We're here to help you power through the working day with tunes for every mood!
We've created some playlists on Spotify to help you work through any task, channel every mood and even beat the dreaded mid-week hump. Want to celebrate the end of the working week with some absolute bangers? Not a problem, the wide-ranging and intricate musical knowledge and expertise of the Taxi team will have you whistling while you work. Check them out below!
And, as an added bonus, we've identified some vaguely work-related songs to get you in the mood, and for a bit of a laugh (humour not guaranteed).
Working 9-5 - Dolly Parton.
This is pretty self-explanatory.
Work - Rihanna ft. Drake
Another obvious one. And if the constant repetition of work' (or werk') doesn't signal what you should be doing, then I'm all out of ideas.
Money for Nothing - Dire Straits
Whilst we don't recommend that you adopt this mindset at work, we can recommend this song. Its iconic guitar riff and driving rhythm section compliment it's unique lyrical insight into the world of a manual labourer who is mocking, begrudgingly, the rock stars on the TV. After all, we've all been jealous of someone else's job at some point.
A Hard Day's Night - The Beatles
Particularly resonant to those who work either in shift patterns or long hours, this 1964 Beatles classic is an instantly recognisable classic. Apparently the title came from the Beatles themselves pulling an all-nighter to write song lyrics. Who said famous musicians can't relate?
Rocketman - Elton John
Everyone wanted to be an astronaut right? Elton John's masterpiece is a way to live out your fantasy occupation in musical form.
The Trooper - Iron Maiden
A good one for when you really need to thrash out that work, or power your way to the end of the day. Describing a common soldier's experience during the Charge of the Light Brigade, it is heavily (get it?) influenced by the famous poem of the same name by Alfred Lord Tennyson. And being a soldier is a job so it makes the list. Plus it's just really good.
Work From Home - Fifth Harmony
Particularly relevant in current times. Even Fifth Harmony are telling you to work from home. And it's another song with the constant repetition of 'work' (or 'werk'), so if you don't get the hint from Rihanna, maybe you will from Camila Cabello and co?
